The election results in the Maldives has put India at ease. So much so, that India went ahead and congratulated the opposition leader Ibrahim Mohamed Solih even before the Maldivian election commission announced the results officially. Right after the announcements of the election results officially, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dialled the President-elected extended his good wishes. Relations have been strained for a while now, but the current elections are hopefully set to change that.
