In India, Coconut oil finds its mention in Ayurveda and has been used for centuries due to its innumerable benefits and hypo-allergic nature. It is one of the best oils that can be used for infants, for healthy cooking, for skin rashes and much more. 1) Skin Care:
Coconut oil is an excellent moisturizer and is used widely by people facing dry skin issues. It is used for the treatment of various skin diseases like psoriasis, atopic dermatitis etc. According to researches it blocks out about 20% of sun’s ultraviolet rays and is known as the natural sunscreen oil. It reduces the formation of wrinkles and other skin issues due to ageing, it is used as the base ingredient of numerous body care products like soaps, creams and lotions.

2) Hair Care:
Coconut oil can be used as a shampoo as well as a conditioner for hair. It is the best method for the treatment of dandruff and the issues related to dry hair. Massage onto the scalp for at least 2 minutes and do it on a regular basis for the best results.

Coconut oil helps in the absorption of calcium by the body. As calcium is the main component of our teeth, coconut oil aids in the development of strong teeth. Oil pulling is an Ayurvedic technique in which a tbsp of oil is swished in your mouth on an empty stomach for about 15 to 20 minutes and Coconut oil pulling prevents plaque formation, bleeding of gums, tooth decay etc.

4) Heart Care:
Coconut oil is known to convert LDL or the bad cholesterol into HDL or the good cholesterol. It is rich in healthy saturated fats and it enhances heart health by preventing high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

5) Brain Functions:
Coconut oil contains medium-chain fatty acids (MCFA) that can be easily absorbed by the liver, and they are metabolized fast. They can be converted into Ketones which are an important source of energy for the brain and has positive effects on people suffering from memory loss, Alzheimer’s disease etc.

6) Digestion:
Coconut oil destroys bad bacteria and candida. It improves gut health and enhances proper digestion in the human body.

7) Immunity:
It has many anti microbial, antifungal, antibacterial and antiviral properties due to the presence of lauric acid, capric acid and myristic acid. Thus it helps in fighting with various disease causing germs like bacteria, virus, fungus etc and hence improves immunity in the human body.
