Acclaimed luxury couture designers Falguni and Shane Peacock's ensembles have not only set high standards in the Indian fashion industry, but have made a mark internationally as well. The designer duo, who can be attributed for taking Indian fashion to Hollywood with their trademark glamour element and breathtaking, innovative designs, have worked with several Bollywood A-listers as well as international icons including Nicki Minaz, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Naomi Harris, Katie Melua, and Lady Gaga.

Edgy, dramatic, dreamy, fantasy-inspired, risque, futuristic, versatile are just few words that describe the duo's collections. Besides being spectacularly innovative and high on glamour quotient, the main highlight of the duo's designs are contrasts combined with an insane level of detailing. Elaborate print and motifs, intricate embroidery, sheer fabrics and a 'peacock twist' to the ensembles are some common elements that one would find in their collection.

The two have the unique ability to integrate traditional with contemporary and present raciness with grace and panache.

In an exclusive chat with News18.com, Falguni and Shane Peacock, divulged details about their upcoming collection that will be showcased at the Vogue Wedding Show 2017 which be held from August 4-6 2017 at the Taj Palace, New Delhi.

During the interaction, the two revealed that their signature swarovski and feather gowns are what their clients keep coming back for.

The duo began by describing a 'Falguni and Shane Peacock' bride. They said, "The 'peacock bride' is a diva. She isn't one to conform to a rule book. She lets her personality take center stage when she adorns her bridal outfits and is a woman who is proud of just being comfortable the way she is."

Talking about their upcoming collection, the duo told News18.com, "Traditional yet contemporary is the prevalent theme inspired by the Sheesh Mahal. While staying connected to our roots, we constantly strive to modernize and narrate our design story. For this one we got inspired by the historic royal traditional influences, paired with the Indian cultural legacy, Indian craftsmanship romancing nature."

"The collection is diverse and crafted to serve the sartorial needs of the entire wedding family specially the bridal entourage," Falguni and Shane added.

When asked about the variety of silhouettes the collection will feature, the quintessential designer duo said, "The collection features a wide variety of silhouettes like voluminous and slim fit floor scraping gowns, dresses, bridal wear, sarees and lehengas, anarkalis, skirts, crops, salwar suits etc. The diaphanous gowns with high-low hemlines and high slits are delicately embroidered in varying degrees and flattering forms with intricate applique work."

They added that premium quality embellishments like rhinestones, bugle beads, crystals, glass sequins and feathers have been used, giving the outfits a dreamy effect. "Intricate work remains the main feature of the collection with elaborate motifs and prints inspired by nature and royal architecture, embroidered with various sizes of swarovski crystals and sequins," the two said. "And of course, each piece is turned into a masterpiece with our signature peacock twist," they added.

Since the duo's bridal couture collection will be showcased next month, we took the opportunity to also speak to the designers about things that concern would-be-brides. We spoke about what soon-to-be brides must keep in mind and whether or not saree gowns will replace the traditional Indian lehengas.

"She should make a regal choice and always remember to be comfortable in what she chooses to wear. She should look out for quality and fit keeping in mind that style is not what one wears, it’s how one wears it," said the designer duo while giving out a few tips to soon-to-be-brides.

As far as saree gowns replacing the traditional lehengas are concerned, the duo said, "Lehengas have always been reworked, restyled and it is eternal. It will always be there as it is a brides first choice. However, sari gowns are modern takes to the lehengas, a fabulous option, but it won’t be replacing the elegant lehengas so soon."
