Britain’s Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle were pronounced husband and wife on Saturday by the Archbishop of Canterbury in a glittering union that brought a measure of modern Hollywood glamour into the 1,000-year-old monarchy.

The star of the TV drama Suits walked un-escorted in a pure white, long-sleeved dress to the middle of the 15th-century St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, from where the heir to the throne, Prince Charles, accompanied her towards his son, waiting at the altar.

After exchanging vows to love and to cherish “till death us do part”, Harry, 33, sixth-in-line to the British throne, placed a ring of Welsh gold on Markle’s finger before a congregation including Queen Elizabeth, senior royals, and celebrities including U.S. media mogul Oprah Winfrey.

And while we still can't get over the royal wedding, here's are just a few things that you probably did not notice at the nuptials.

Meghan's symbolic veil: When Meghan Markle walked down the aisle to marry Prince Harry on Saturday, she had with her the 53 countries of the Commonwealth - each one represented by their respective flora and fauna in the embroidery of her five-meter long veil.

Meghan's dress, designed by Givenchy creative head Clare Waight Keller, which featured long-sleeves with a boat neck had been eagerly anticipated by royal fans around the world.

A brooch in the tiara: The diamond bandeau tiara, made in 1932 for Queen mary and sported by Meghan on the big day, was lent to the Duchess of Sussex by Queen Elizabeth. The sparkling diamond and platinum bandeau boasts a detachable center brooch, made of 10 diamonds, dating from 1893.

Markle complemented it with a tiara, an embroidered cathedral length veil, a bracelet and a small diamond stud earrings. (Image: AP) Markle complemented it with a tiara, an embroidered cathedral length veil, a bracelet and a small diamond stud earrings. (Image: AP)

Wedding ensembles: Both the outfits sported by Meghan Markle on May 19 were made by female designers. While the wedding dress was designed by Givenchy creative head Clare Waight Keller, Stella McCartney designed the bride's reception outfit.

The youngest member of the royal family was missing: No we aren't talking about Prince George or Princess Charlotte, but about Prince William and Kate's newborn Prince Louis. Were you able to spot him at the ceremony? We couldn't.
