1. Bandhavgarh National Park

Located in Umaria district, Bandhavgarh National Park has always attracted nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. Situated in the foothills of Vindhyas, the national park covers buffer area of around 448 sq km and core area of around 105 sq km.

How to Reach

The nearest airport is in Jabalpur which is around 164 km away from Bandhavgarh. The national park is easily connected to Jabalpur by private and state-run buses and taxis. The nearest railway stations are Katni (102 km), Jabalpur (164 km), Satna (120 km) and Umaria (35 km).

2. Jim Corbett National Park

Covering an area of approximately 520.8 sq km, Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand witnesses almost 70,000 visitors every season from all around the world. The national park is home to more than 488 species of fauna and 586 wildlife species.

How to Reach

The nearest airport is Delhi airport which is 295 km. Ramnagar Railway junction is 12 km away from the Corbett National Park. Moreover, the national park is well connected by roads with Ranikhet (112 km), Nanital (66 km), Delhi (260 km)and Lucknow (145 km).

3. Ranthambore National Park

One of the most popular places for wildlife lovers, Ranthambore National Park was established in the year 1955 as a game sanctuary. The commencement of Project Tiger took place in 1972, following which Ranthambore received the status of a national park in 1980.

How to Reach

The nearest airport is in Jaipur which is about 160 km away and the nearest railway station is Sawai Madhopur Railway Station located 11 km away from National Park. There is a very good network of buses and taxis that connect Sawai Madhopur to Delhi, Jaipur and Agra.

4. Periyar National Park

Located in Kerala, Periyar National Park covers 350 sq km right in the middle of serene Periyar Lake. It was declared as a National Park in the year 1982.

How to Reach

The closest airport is Madurai Airport which is 140 km away from the national park, while the nearest railway station Kottayam Railway Station is 114 km away. Periyar National Park can be easily reached by road from major cities including Kottayam (100 km), Madurai (110 km), Kochi (120 km) and Kumily (4 km).

5. Keoladeo National Park

Home to more than 230 residents and migratory bird species, Keoladeo National Park was formerly known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary. The national park covers area of 29 sq km and is the largest Bird Reserve in India.

How to Reach

The nearest airport to the National Park is in Jaipur and the nearest railway station is Bharatpur junction. Keoladeo National Park is well connected by roads from all major neighboring locations.
