Kal Ho Naa Ho has been a landmark film for several people associated with it. It catapulted Preity Zinta to the top and put director Nikkhil Advani on the map.
However, not many know that the 2003 film also marked the beginning of career of another actor, who was then prepping to foray into Bollywood. Arjun Kapoor, who made his Bollywood debut nine years later in 2012 with Ishaqzaade, was an assistant director on Kal Ho Naa Ho.
As the Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta starrer film completed 15 years on Wednesday, Arjun took to Twitter to share his experience of working on it. “My debut technically & my first pay cheque!!! Thank u @DharmaMovies @karanjohar@nikkhiladvani for allowing me to be a part of this special film...,” he tweeted.
Karan Johar, who produced Kal Ho Naa Ho, also celebrated its turning 15 by sharing on Instagram a heartfelt montage of clips from the film and during the shoot. “This film will always remain the closest to my heart…#15yearsofkalhonaaho,” he captioned it.
Talking about the movie, Preity recently told PTI, “It was very special to me because I lost my first love. I was in love with him, he was not. I felt strongly when the film was offered to me. Some of the best things have happened to me during that film.”
“It was one of those films that filled me with joy but it broke our hearts as well. It was a roller coaster ride... It is a timeless film. I am fortunate that I was a part of it,” she added.
