2.0 Box Office Day 4: Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar’s Film Earns Rs 400 Crore Worldwide

Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 is on a winning streak at the box office. The film has earned Rs 400 crore nett worldwide, leaving behind Fantastic Beasts, reports trade analysts Ramesh Bala.

Giving away the total collection of the film in first four days, Bala mentioned that 2.0 collects 52.5 million USD (Rs 367 crore), while Fantastic Beasts made 40.2 million USD (Rs 281 crore) at the ticket window.




Not only this, the film has also become the highest grossing South Indian movie overseas. Bala wrote, "#2Point0 with $3,588,450 is now 2018's Highest Grossing South Movie in #USA. It overtakes #Rangasthalam 's Life-time gross of $3,513,450."




The film is also going strong in the domestic market and has registered a sizeable growth over the weekend. "#2Point0 puts up a SUPERB TOTAL in its *extended* opening weekend... S Shankar's directorial had an average earning at the box office on day 2. Subsequently, the film witnessed a significant growth in its collection on the third day of its release. The film, which has become the highest opener of 2018 by minting Rs 73.5 crore on the opening day, earned Rs 25 crore (Hindi version) on Saturday. The total collection of 2.0 now stands at Rs 136.5 crore, excluding the day 2 and day 3 earnings in Tamil and Telugu versions.

The long-awaited sequel to the 2010 blockbuster Enthiran, the film sees Akshay in the role of an antagonist, Pakshirajan, a cellphone-hating mutant scientist. Rajinikanth reprises his role as Dr Vaseegaran and robot Chitti from the original film.

The film also features Adil Hussain, Sudhanshu Pandey and Amy Jackson in key roles.
