Karan Johar recently announced that he has become a father of two children through surrogacy. The filmmaker decided to become a single father and welcomed twins Roohi and Yash into his life. The filmmaker proudly shared the news on Twitter and wrote that he's ready for whatever it takes to bring up two beautiful souls with the help of his mother and friends like family.
Soon after the big news, Bollywood celebrities congratulated the celebrated filmmaker on his new role.
Priyanka Chopra tweeted, "Congratulations Karan Johar, so happy for you. May Yash and Roohi always have a beautiful healthy life. Much love always."
Actress Alia Bhatt, who is said to be Karan's godchild in the industry was elated by the news. While congratulating him she wrote, "Finally, I can say I have a younger brother and sister! So happy. So much love to give. Bursting with joy,"
Sidharth Malhotra, whom Karan launched with Student of the Year, wrote, "So happy you took this decision Karan! It's a full house now. You will be an amazing father, love to your new big family."
Varun Dhawan, who is another Dharma Productions prodigy tweeted, "Karan, you are the best human being I know and I'm sure you will make the best dad."
Actor Tusshar Kapoor, who himself became a single parent via surrogacy last year, said, "Karan, you will be a terrific father to the twin joys," he wrote.
National Award-winning filmmaker Hansal Mehta tweeted: "Welcome to fatherhood."
Filmmaker Farah Khan, who has triplets through In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF), is glad Karan finally took her advice seriously.
"Best thing to happen to you and they'll be the youngest people you hang out with so all's good," she tweeted.
Calling it the most satisfying and rewarding aspect of your life, actor R. Madhavan tweeted: "Congratulations. Welcome to parenthood. God bless the young ones. Proud papa."

Karan had expressed his desire to become a father through adoption or surrogacy in his biography An Unsuitable Boy which was released this year.
Karan extended gratitude to IVF specialist Dr Jatin Shah, who was also instrumental in the successful birth of superstar Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri's son AbRam through surrogacy.
