Alia Bhatt's Birthday Bash Gets Postponed After Ranbir Kapoor Tests Positive for COVID-19

Ranbir Kapoor had reportedly planned a birthday bash for Alia Bhatt on March 15. However, now that he has contracted the deadly virus, the celebrations will take place on a later date.

Actor Ranbir Kapoor apparently made plans to make his lady love Alia Bhatt’s birthday feel special this year. However, now that he has contracted the virus all his personal and professional commitments have been pushed further.

The news about him testing positive was shared by his mom Neetu Kapoor on Instagram. In the post, Neetu thanked Ranbir’s well-wishers and informed that he is undergoing treatment and is currently in quarantine at home.

According to a report published in The Times of India, Ranbir had planned a birthday bash for his lady love on March 15. However, now that he has contracted the deadly virus, the celebrations will take place on a later date. Ranbir and Alia have also been working together for their upcoming movie titled Brahmastra.

Recently, Alia had also shared a post on social media from the sets of the film. In the pictures that she had shared, the actress was seen happily posing with Ranbir and director of the movie, Ayan Mukerji. The makers of the film have informed that they will not proceed with the shooting till the time Ranbir recovers fully. They also added that for them the well-being of their crew is of utmost importance. Brahmāstra is a fantasy action adventure film which also stars, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni in pivotal roles.

Meanwhile, Alia has tested negative for COVID-19. A source close to her mentioned that the actress nearly undergoes the test every day. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali who has been working with Alia closely for the movie Gangubai Kathiawadi has also test positive for coronavirus. Gangubai Kathiawadi is a biographical crime film based on a chapter of Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. In the movie Alia plays the titular role while other crucial roles are being played by Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari and Seema Pahwa.
