Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan recently alarmed fans when he took to his official Tumblr blog to inform his fans that he is undergoing surgery. The 78-year-old actor’s blog post was short, stating that he will not be able to write more.
He wrote, “medical condition .. surgery .. can’t write. -ab.” The actor has often written about his ailing health in his blog post. Last year, the actor had written detailed accounts of his Covid-19 recovery journey.
In 2019, the actor was admitted to the hospital due to problems with his liver. The actor suffers from liver cirrhosis, after suffering from Hepatitis B during his near-fatal accident on the sets of Coolie. In a blog post, the actor had revealed that a blood donor had suffered from Hepatitis B and Big B had hence contracted the disease.
Meanwhile, the megastar took to his blog to share the details about the projects his kin — wife Jaya Bachchan, son Abhishek Bachchan and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan — is currently working on. The actor said that his wife, actor and politician Jaya Bachchan is currently working with a revered Marathi director.
“Abhishek, his new project started yesterday in Agra, ‘Dasvi’. Prayers and wishes be with him… And the family is busy on the sets. Aishwarya has begun shooting her new one with Mani Ratnam in Hyderabad. I shall be starting my next in a few weeks with Vikas Bahl. My earlier finished projects now set for release soon – ‘Chehre’ and ‘Jhund’. And after a very long gap, Jaya has begun shooting her film, a new project with a renowned Marathi director… details of which shall follow,” he wrote.
Complimenting his son’s venture last year, Big B wrote, “The last year has been filled with his creative efforts. The web series, ‘Breathe’, which was such a dynamic character – the next season with him to be started soon. “The film ‘Ludo’, which became No. 1 on Netfilx web map. The one completed recently in January 2021 in Kolkata, ‘Bob Biswas’ under Sujoy Ghosh and soon to be released. And now this (‘Dasvi’) which shall be over in a couple of months,” he added.
The sports-drama Jhund, directed by Nagraj Manjule, will debut in theatres on June 18. His other release for the year, Chehre, will open theatrically on April 30.
