Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Badhaai Ho is on a record-breaking spree at the box office as it continues to zoom past its competitions. The film, which has been ruling the box office for six weeks now, has beaten the biggest Indian blockbuster ever, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion at the ticket window, reports Times Now. Badhaai Ho has collected Rs 3.95 crore in its sixth weekend which is now an all-time record. The record was previously held by Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which had earned Rs 3.35 crore.

The total collection of Badhaai Ho currently stands at Rs 132.35 crore. It has also become the sixth highest grossing film of 2018 by surpassing Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree.

The film is also doing exceptionally well overseas. Trade Analyst tweeted: "Badhaai Ho has emerged a MASSIVE HIT Overseas... The film has crossed USD 3 million in USA + Canada and cruised past A$ 7,00,000 in Australia... The numbers are HIGHER than many star-studded films that opened in 2018." (sic)

Also featuring Surekha Sikri, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and Sanya Malhotra in key roles, Badhaai Ho focuses on issues rarely discussed—the sex lives of couples with grown-up children and the discomfort that Indians have in coming to terms with their parents’ sex lives.

Directed by Amit Sharma, Badhaai Ho received a terrific opening at the ticket window and the strong positive word of mouth around the film subsequently helped it generate great box-office results.

The film was released on the occasion of Dussehra alongside Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra's Namaste England, which failed to draw audiences and fell flat at the box office.

News18's film critic Rajeev Masand gave the film 3.5 stars out 5. "It rings true for the most part, benefits from terrific casting across the board, and uses a winning combination of humour and genuine, unmistakable feeling to go to a delicate place where Hindi films have seldom gone before. Don’t miss it," he wrote in his review.
