New Delhi: When Priyanka Chopra made her Bollywood debut in 2003, hardly anyone could have imagined that merely 12 years down the line she would end up becoming one of the most bankable names of the Hindi film industry. However, that is exactly what happened as the actress managed to floor critics and audiences alike courtesy her charismatic personality and remarkable acting range.

Today, as Priyanka celebrates her birthday, we take a look at some of her most unforgettable big screen outings.

Aitraaz: Touted as a romantic-thriller, ‘Aitraaz’ created quite a stir amongst movie buffs thanks to its bold storyline which revolved around a man who is wrongly accused of sexually harassing his boss. Directed by Abbas-Mustan, the film proved to be a runaway hit at the box office, earning rave reviews. Essaying the role of a manipulative seductress, Priyanka delivered a griping performance and won a Filmfare award.

Mary Kom: Directed by Omung Kumar, this captivating biographical drama was based on the life of legendary boxer and Olympic bronze medal winner MC Mary Kom . A true perfectionist, Priyanka spend nearly three months preparing herself for the role. During this period, she learned the basics of boxing and familiarized herself with Kom’s in-ring style. Luckily, the actress’ efforts paid off when ‘Mary Kom’ opened to a thunderous response at the box office.

Fashion: Generally regarded as the most challenging film of Priyanka’s career, ‘Fashion’ dealt with the dark yet unexplored side of the Fashion industry. Paying the role of a successful model, the PC delivered a mature and mesmerizing performance which helped her bag a National award. Interestingly, this Madhur Bhandarkar-directed venture ran into some trouble with censors owing to its bold content

Barfi: Best remembered for the sizzling chemistry between Priyanka and Ranbir Kapoor, ‘Barfi’ garnered tremendous critical acclaim because of its fun filled storyline, sincere performances and catchy music. A runaway hit at the ticket window, the film was India’s official entry to the Academy awards in 2012.

Saat Khoon Maaf: Based on Ruskin Bond’s popular novel ‘Suzzana’s Seven Husbands’, this gripping noir served as strong proof of Priyanka’s remarkable range as a performer. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’ saw the actress sharing screen space with seasoned veterans like Irrfan Khan and Annu Kapoor. Moreover, ‘PC’ was also paired opposite contemporaries such as Neil Nitin Mukesh and John Abraham. Needless to say, she shared a crackling rapport with all her co-stars.

Dostana: Featuring Priyanka at her gorgeous best, ‘Dostana’ created quite a stir in the industry thanks to the actress’ ‘bindass’ chemistry with her handsome co-stars—Abhishek Bacchan and John Ab raham. Directed Tarun Mansukhani, the film boasted of some lively numbers most notably ‘Desi Girl'
