Jab Harry Met Sejal Box Office Collection: Good Response but No Records Broken

On Day 1 of Jab Harry Met Sejal, box office collections are expected to hit Rs 20-25 crores. Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma-starrer had a good opening with 45-55% occupancy in the morning shows which is expected to soar further in the evening. The morning occupancy was seen 60-70% in the urban multiplexes as that is ought to be the target audience of this content-driven musical-emotional-drama.

Imtiaz Ali's directorial has opened on 3200 screens in multiplexes as well as single screens across India. Kolkata and Hyderabad have reported the best occupancy and box office collections for Jab Harry Met Sejal on its Day one of hitting the theatres.

Although Bollywood critics have not lauded the movie much, given the hype that is created around it and reviews on the social media, Anushka leaves Shah Rukh behind with her Gujarati accent and antics in the first half. The beautiful locales compliment the romantic theme of the film. According to the movie goers, the second half of Jab Harry Met Sejal is melodramatic and unmoving.

Given the charm Jab Harry Met Sejal has created with its teasers and songs, the movie is going to see a rise in its weekend box office collections for the urban centres. However, the movie cannot be seen as a blockbuster hit for Shah Rukh or Anushka as it leaves you blank in the end.
