Jab Harry Met Sejal has piqued the curiosity of viewers for more reasons than one. The film not just brings together Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma for the third time after their successful ventures Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Jab Tak Hai Jaan, but also unite them with the filmmaker who’s known for his soul-stirring works, Imtiaz Ali.

While the makers left no stone unturned in promoting the film – whether it was a series of mini trails or a full proof marketing-oriented Sejal hunt, it’ll be interesting to see if any new facets of the actors and their capabilities unfold.

If one’s accustomed to Imtiaz’s works, they’ll know the common leitmotifs that bind all his films together – a healing journey, picturesque locales, a Punjabi touch and a complex human-mind. Considering that the filmmaker is often accused of bringing the same wine in different bottles to the screen, whether this film adds another feather to his story telling, remains to be seen. Also, lies heavily on Imtiaz’s shoulders is the burden of Shah Rukh’s stardom. It’ll be notable to see how Shah Rukh, who often considers himself to be a director’s actor, turns out in this film.

The film, as much as it’s been revealed from mini trails and trailer, finds its base on Anushka’s lost engagement ring and her quest to find it. Shah Rukh, who plays a guide, joins her in the search.

Will Imtiaz carve another noteworthy film? Will Shah Rukh-Anushka do justice to their Punjabi-Gujarati camaraderie? Will Jab Harry Met Sejal prove to be a box office winner? Kriti Tulsiani from is inside the theater to find out.
