Karan Johar is all set to return to the director's seat after a long break. The filmmaker, who last directed Student of The Year, launching Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra, is keen to be back behind the camera for a full-length feature.

In an interview with Hindustan Times Karan revealed that he is ready with a script and can't wait to share cinema space with SRK. He said, "Well, now that I am back from my birthday break (in London, UK), I will take all those decisions but I know one thing. Shah Rukh has been one of my best experiences in cinema ever and it’s something that I can’t wait to repeat,"

He further said, "In the last few years, we co-produced films together such as Student Of The Year (2012) and Dear Zindagi (2016) but now I can’t wait to collaborate with him in a full-fledged manner because I know whenever we do something together, it will be extraordinary and amazing,"

One of the strongest friendships in the industry, Karan and SRK have seen their share of ups and downs but have always emerged out of it together. SRK was the who encouraged Karan to become a director and even gave his word to work in his directorial without even listening to the script. Their first collaboration resulted in a mega-hit Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and became strong with Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kal Ho Na Ho, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and My Name is Khan.

About his relationship with SRK, Karan added, "He is a part of my life as well. Shah Rukh, Gauri and the kids – Aryan, Suhana and AbRam – are my immediate family. I won’t even use the word ‘dosti (friendship)’. Apart from my dad (late Yash Johar) and mum (Hiroo Johar), I consider Shah Rukh and Adi (Aditya) Chopra’s families my other families in Mumbai. They are always going to be in every part and beat of my life,"

Karan is currently promoting Netflix's Lust Stories, where he has again collaborated with his Bombay Talkies co-directors Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, and Dibakar Banerjee to direct one part of the four-story narrative.
