Akshay Kumar, who is basking in the success of 2.0, has wrapped up the schedule of his upcoming war feature Kesari. While Akshay Kumar's look was unveiled in January itself, the actress’ character was kept under wraps.

On Monday, the actress took to social media to share her first look from the film. Going by the picture, Parineeti appears to be a rustic woman while Akshay stands uptight by her side with a heavy turban on his head.

Sharing the pictures, Parineeti also posted a heartfelt message for the brave warrior. She wrote, "Anytime I watched a war movie, it was the love story of those brave men that kept me going..so proud to be a part of this epic experience!!! Thank you Akshay sir, Kjo & Anurag sir for allowing me to be a part of your vision."

Akshay has teamed up with filmmaker Karan Johar's Dharma Productions for the movie, being directed by Anurag Singh.

The film is based on one of the bravest battles fought in India, the battle of Saragarhi. The first poster was also released on the date marking the Saragarhi Day which is celebrated in honour of the sacrifices made by 21 Sikh soldiers while fighting an army of over 10,000 Afghans on 12 September, 1897.

Kesari, which was meant to be a collaboration among three of Bollywood biggies- Salman Khan, Akshay and Karan, went on floors in January without Salman.

Apart from this, Akshay Kumar also has films like Good News, Mission Mangal and Houseful 4 in his kitty, while Parineeti will be seen opposite Siddharth Malhotra in Jabariya Jodi.
