LFW 2017: Kiara Advani Would Love To Explore Comedy Genre
In an exclusive interaction with News18.com at the ongoing Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017, the actress confessed that she always wanted to be an actor and that she wants to try her hands in the comedy genre.

Actress Kiara Advani made her Bollywood debut with Fugly but only hogged the limelight with her second film MS Dhoni The Untold Story. In an exclusive interaction with News18.com at the ongoing Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017, the actress confessed that she always wanted to be an actor and that she wants to try her hands in the comedy genre. She also opened up about her first film Fugly which tanked at the box office.

"I always wanted to be an actor. I started with Fugly - which was an amazing journey - I got to play a very different character from who I'm as a person".

Talking about her Bollywood journey, the actress credited her first film for making the person that she is today and thanked everyone for the appreciation she received after her second film MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. She said, "Fugly really helped me a lot to let go of all my inhibitions and come into my zone of being an actor and then MS Dhoni came into my way which I'm so grateful for because the kind of love and appreciation I've got for the film is so over whelming."

Even though her first film tanked at the box office, she has no regrets and is hopeful for the future. "Fugly as a film really changed me. I think your first film will always be special no matter what. If it doesn't do well, of course you feel bad."

"It hurt me and I went into a shell for a while but it made me stronger and it made me everything that I'm today."

She's of the view that every experience and opportunity plays a part in shaping a person that you are. "Just the way it was written and the way it has been - I would want to stick to that."

An elated Kiara also told us about how people have now started calling her Sakshi in real life after her stint in MS Dhoni The Untold Story. "People recognise me and associate me with Dhoni's wife - they call me Sakshi if they ever see me. So it's really touching that they recognise me as one of my characters."

The actress, who is now gearing up for her third film Machine 2, is enthusiastic to see fans' reaction. "I'm very excited to see how people will react to this - they'll see me in a completely new avatar. My character is so different from my last film."

Bollywood, as she says, has been quite accepting of her. "After the film released most of the actors and directors who are on my wishlist and who've seen the film, actually called to meet me."

"I don't want to take names I'm very superstitious but I hope I can say something soon," she said hinting at her future projects.

When asked which genre would she love to try her hands on, she said, "Everything".

She added that because she's new she feels like a clean slate who has so much to explore and would love to do comedy. "My dad thinks I'm witty and funny and I want to see if other people would think that as well".
