When an actor signs a psychological thriller, it becomes important for him/her to understand the psyche of the people he's set to project on screen. And to make sure that they understand exactly what goes on in criminals' minds, actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vijay Verma decided to meet real-life criminals during the preparation of their respective roles in the upcoming film Monsoon Shootout.
The two visited a rehabilitation center as a part of their preparation. "To prepare for their role and to understand the script better, they visited a rehabilitation centre to meet people who had committed crimes in the past and to get in touch with what life is like on the other end of the spectrum. This helped them etch their characters on screen better and to get a sense of script more in-depth," said a source.
According to the source, the visit was planned as to take a closer look at the criminals' reasoning and also to get a first-hand experience of their behaviour.
Directed by Amit Kumar, Monsoon Shootout sees Nawazuddin playing a role of a criminal. Produced by Guneet Monga, Anurag Kashyap, Arun Rangachari and Vivek Rangachari, the film stars Neeraj Kabi and Tannishtha Chatterjee alongside the actors and is slated to release on December 15.
