'Laughter is the best medicine', they say. Laughter can add colours to your dull life. You enjoy everything when you are laughing. That is when Bollywood comes to our service, with its comedy capers that are sure to leave you all in splits. Here is a list of 14 Bollywood movies that made us laugh heartily.

Padosan (1968)



Padosan revolves around Bhola who falls in love with his neighbour Bindu, a fashionable college girl. In order to woo her, he seeks help from a friend. But Bhola loses all hope when Bindu claims to love someone else. The traits of a suitor that he adopts are rib-tickling.


Chupke Chupke (1975)

The 'Jai-Veeru' duo of Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra didn't fail to make us laugh in Chupke Chupke. Sulekha (Sharmila Tagore) is in awe of her brother-in-law Raghav of his intelligence and judgement. Hilarity ensues when her husband decides to take up a challenge to fool Raghav and goes to work for him as a driver.


Gol Maal (1979)



Starring Amol Palekar and Utpal Dutt, Gol Maal is a classic comedy, which was a hit at the box office. A pinch of disguise and series of lies unwind in the end of the movie, giving rise to the comic climax.


Angoor (1982)



Angoor released in the year 1982 is a classic comedy of its era. Fun sets in when the two pairs of identical twins who get separated at birth meet in adulthood. Due to utter confusion, some situations turn out to be hysterically funny. With contrary characters, one of the pairs is honest and the other is wanted by the police, it is even more hilarious to watch.


Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983)



Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro is a satire based comedy where the plot questions the corruption in Indian politics, businesses and bureaucracies. The movie, in a very funny manner, explains the serious issue of corruption, whose hands are spread from top to bottom.


Andaz Apna Apna (1994)

Andaz Apna Apna proves to be a 90's famous film that turned out to be a flop at the theatres. But the audience enjoyed its taste after some time as it became one of the most-watched comedy films. With a breathtaking star cast of Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, the movie occupied a special spot in the viewers' hearts.


Ishq (1997)



Ishq, one of the hits of its time, stars Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Kajol and Juhi Chawla. The famous 'Ram Ram Ram Ram Ram...' scene by Aamir Khan walking on the pipe is a true laughter medicine. With unforgettable dialogues and scenes, the movie showcased the fight for love in the most comic way possible.


Hera Pheri (2000)



Hera Pheri became a cult with the perfect blend of the Paresh Rawal's style, Akshay Kumar's comedy and Sunil Shetty's innocence. This movie can be called as the other name of comedy. "Yeh Baburao ka style hai.." gave us ample years to hurt our stomachs laughing.


Munna Bhai MBBS (2003)

A perfect comedy-drama that focuses on the life of a goon who pursues MBBS to become a successful doctor, as per his parents' desires. The journey of him transforming from a mafia person to a soft hearted healer is eye pleasing to watch. The tactics and shortcuts which he uses whilst his journey are sure to leave your eyes watery with laughter.


Malamaal Weekly (2006)

Malamaal Weekly is a story about some villagers who find about a lottery contest. The comic chaos starts when the winner of the jackpot is most likely dead. With the amazing actors, Paresh Rawal, Om Puri and Ritesh Deshmukh, the movie was enough to take us on a laughter ride.


Welcome (2007)



Welcome was successful in welcoming a good response and laughter. From Nana Patekar's "Uday control.." to Paresh Rawal's pervert neck move, the movie was a delight and stress buster.


Bheja Fry (2007)

We all have that one person in our lives who can get on our nerves in seconds. Same is the case in the movie Bheja Fry, Vinay Pathak literally fries up Rajat Kapoor's head with his irritating habits which are otherwise super funny to watch. The movie was quite relatable for many as they remembered their real life 'Vinay' after watching the film.


3 idiots (2009)



3 Idiots a super-duper hit was a complete laughter pack. Engineering has always been a topic for trolls, memes and jokes. The punches are so apt and relatable that they are bound to tickle us. Showcasing an Engineering College atmosphere, the film didn't leave any stone unturned to entertain us. Be it Boman Irani's shirt and tie style or 'Raju's (Sharman Joshi) family scenes, we remember it all line by line. That can only be possible if you have seen the movie numerous times, hence proved!


PK (2014)



PK, a fun-unlimited film is about an alien who comes to Earth and loses the only device he can use to communicate with his spaceship. His (Aamir Khan's aka Pk's) innocent nature and child-like questions force the country to evaluate the impact of religion on its people. He does all this in a manner that is unforgettable. His alien-like look with wide ears and dreamy eyes, his dialogues and Haryanvi accent leave you laughing until your stomach starts hurting.
