Director Nag Ashwin, who will be directing superstars Deepika Padukone, Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan, confirmed that the film’s pre-production has already begun. The film, which is touted to be a sci-fi magnum-opus, will most likely go on floors in July.
Talking to Mid-day, Ashwin said, “I have had my round of meetings with all three of them separately. Pre-production has been going on for long. We will begin shooting around June-July.”
Spanish cinematographer Dani Sanchez-Lopez and composer Mickey J Meyer will also work on the film. The trio had previously worked together in the 2018 film Mahanathi, starring Keerthy Suresh, Dulquer Salmaan, and Vijay Devarakonda.
Ashwin was most recently part of anthology Pitta Kathalu, which means short stories in Telugu. His segment XLife starred Shruti Haasan and Sanjith Hegde.
In a previous interview with Bollywood Hungama, Ashwin said that getting Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Prabhas is a dream pairing. He said, “It is definitely a dream combination. I like the cast but it is about the story. At the end of the day, these three people doing these three roles in the movie is exciting for me than just the actors. My movie will shatter all records of imagination.”
Meanwhile, the upcoming multi-lingual film is backed by the South Indian production house Vyjayanthi Movies, popular for projects such as Mahanati, Agni Parvatam and Indra.
