Sara Ali Khan’s interviews always manage to create a buzz. Be it her humble behaviour despite being a star kid or be it spontaneous answers, she tops the headlines. Yet again, she made a statement that left her fans surprisingly feeling a bit relatable to her lifestyle. The actress revealed that she is not at all “brand conscious” and is even happy with simple outfits bought from public markets like Sarojini Nagar.
In her interview with Elle India magazine, the 25-year-old Bollywood diva pointed out, “I was a large girl while growing up, so somehow I developed a sense of self that has nothing to do with the way I looked and how I was perceived. I was happy within; I didn’t care if people saw me as fat or thin. I never measured myself like that.”
She further added, “I am truly a simple, desi girl at heart. Maybe that’s what people relate with. I don’t like spending a lot of money. I am not brand conscious at all. I am happy in my salwar kameez from Sarojini Nagar and jutis than in brands that cost more than my monthly income.”
Not just about her simple lifestyle but she also talked about what the recent pandemic taught her. In the same interview, she expressed how she had learnt to be grateful for things that she had. She added how not the brands, films or covers but enjoying “a good cup of coffee or eating dal chawal” was all she needed to be happy during the lockdown. She also went ahead to say that she is not much keen on thinking what’s on her plate in the future and just wants to enjoy the present moment.
On the professional front, Sara was last seen in Coolie No 1 co-starring Varun Dhawan. She will be next seen in Akshay Kumar-Dhanush starrer Atrangi Re. This Aanand L Rai directorial is slated to release on August 6, 2021.
