Karan Johar took to Twitter on Thursday to release the first song of his upcoming film Simmba.
A peppy remix of Arshad Warsi’s super-hit song from his 1996 film Tere Mere Sapne, Aankh Marey has it all to become the next party anthem. Remixed by Tanishk Bagchi and sung by Mika Singh and Neha Kakkar, it has Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan dancing their heart out, making you want to dance too.
To add to it, the song’s 3.22-miunte video also has cameos by Karan and Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal gang—Kunal Kemmu, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade and Arshad.
Though Sara revealed in a recent interview with film critic Rajeev Masand that she cannot dance, in the video, she matches up to Ranveer—a seasoned dancer—like a pro.
Apart from its catchy music, Ranveer and Sara’s effortless dancing and the many cameos, Aankh Marey also has several other high points, including Tusshar’s mute character singing through characteristic sounds and Arshad dancing to the voice of Kumar Sanu, reminding of the original song that released 22 years ago.
The Hindi remake of 2015 Telugu film Temper that starred Jr NTR, Simmba features Ranveer as Sangram Bhalerao, a corrupt cop who becomes a crusader of women’s safety after a girl he treats as his younger sister gets raped.
A Rohit Shetty film, it also stars Sonu Sood and Ashutosh Rana in important roles. Simmba is slated to release on December 28.
