Soorma Trailer: Diljit Dosanjh Channels His Inner Sandeep Singh; See How
Stills from Soorma trailer.
The trailer of Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu starrer Soorma is out. The film, directed and written by Shaad Ali, is based on the inspirational journey of former India hockey captain Sandeep Singh. The two minute 49 seconds-long trailer gives glimpses into Sandeep Singh's story as Diljit brings his portrayal to life. Taapsee plays the love interest of Diljit in the film.

From Taapsee and Diljit's flirtatious banter to the actor's journey to become one of the finest hockey players in the country, the trailer of Soorma captures the movie's mood beautifully. In one of the scenes wherein Diljit helps India win an important match against Pakistan just after getting recovered from a serious injury, the Udta Punjab star set the tone and rhythm of the film to perfection.

Sharing the trailer on Twitter, Diljit wrote: "#Soorma Trailer... Agar Acha Lagge Toh Plz Share (If you like it, please share.)"

Taapsee, too, shared the trailer, writing, "Excitement galore! There is no better feeling than to be a part of a true story! Bring it on #Soorma #SoormaTrailer A story we missed once before but this time... #DontLetThisStoryPass."

Diljit has undergone an intense physical training and diet changes to prepare for the role of the ex-hockey player and in fact, was trained by Sandeep himself.

Talking about Diljit's role in the movie, Singh had earlier told News18, “Apart from being a good singer, he’s a fantastic actor. He’s extremely hardworking. I’m really happy that he’s playing me in the movie. It’s not an easy thing to portray a real-life character on screen. My main motto was to teach him drag flick only as it’s the most difficult skill in hockey and he has done a great job. Whatever hockey sequences you will see in the movie has been done by Diljit only."
