Every film has its own level of expectations. But what do you do when you're making India's first space film?
The trailer of Jayam Ravi's upcoming flick Tik Tik Tik just dropped in, and it looks authentic and promising. At a run-time of 2 minutes and 18 seconds, the trailer is truly a work of art. After making Kollywood's first zombie film, director Shakti Soundar Rajan joins hands with Jayam Ravi for the second time.
Going by the trailer, the plot seems to be somewhat similar to Michael Bay's 1998 sci-fi thriller Armageddon. The protagonist plays a magician and escape artist, who is roped in to save India from a 60 square km asteroid, which could change the very geography of the country. The visuals look very engaging. A special mention to the Gravity and spaceship scene.
Composer D. Imman seems to have gone out of his comfort zone and experimented with the background score. The score conveys mystery and gives you a sense of a perfect 'race against time' thriller. Editor Pradeep Raghav delivers a neat package.
Such a film concept would inevitably involve a considerable amount of CGI work. The trailer has multiple sequences of such sort, but one would find it hard to distinguish the CGI work from real shots. CGI team and art design merit a special mention for creating an authentic look and feel when it comes to the outer space sequences.
In short, Tik Tik Tik promises to be an exciting journey filled with an asteroid, meteors, space guns, and much more. The film could turn out to be India's response to Hollywood. Kudos to director Shakti for taking up a never before touched genre in Indian cinema.
Produced by Hitesh Jhabak, 'Tik Tik Tik' stars Nivetha Pethuraj, Aaron Aziz, and Jayaprakash in major roles. With this trailer, expectations for the film have sky-rocketed. Hope the team will deliver as promised.
