Tamil actress Varalakshmi Sarathkumar is gearing up for the release of her movie Danny. The movie, set to be released on digital platform Zee5 and Tentkotta streaming platforms, will be out on August 1. For her 25th flick, Varalakshmi will be donning the character of a police officer.

Announcing the release of the movie back in June, the official handle of Zee5 wrote, “A perfect suspense thriller that will send chills down your spine is coming your way soon! Watch #Danny, a #ZEE5 exclusive from Aug 1! (sic).”

In Danny, Varalakshmi will play the role of Kundhavai, a station inspector, who is involved in investigating a series of murder cases. He is helped and assisted by Inspector Danny, a sniffer dog.

It took no time for the actress to bond with the dog on the sets, given her love for animals. “My acting improved tremendously. Under Bala sir I learnt to understand characters. I now like to push myself as an actor instead of doing the same characters,” said Varalakshmi, as stated by the Gulf News.

This will be Varalakshmi’s third movie where she will be playing the role of a cop. Before Danny, she has worked as a police officer in Nibunan-Vismaya and Sathya.

Danny is directed by Santhanamoorthy and produced by PG Muthiah and M Deepa. Sayaji Shinde, Anitha Sampath, Saravanan Sakthi and Vela Ramamoorthy will be seen as other cast members in the movie.
