50 lakh people will join JDU-RJD campaign, send DNA samples to Narendra Modi, says Nitish Kumar

The JDU has already made it clear that it will use the DNA barb as one of the poll planks for the Bihar Assembly elections.

Patna: As the stage is set for a high voltage elections to 243-member Bihar Assembly, a war of words has broken out between Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Hitting back at Modi's DNA remark, the grand alliance of Nitish' Janata Dal United and Lalu Prasad's Rashtriya Janata Dal will jointly launch a campaign and at least 50 lakh people will send their DNA samples to the Prime Minister.

Nitish tweeted, "In spite of our repeated pleas Modiji hasn't retracted his derogatory remarks on our DNA, we're going to launch 'Take Back Your Words'. At least 50 lakh people from Bihar will join this campaign and send their DNA sample to Modi for test."

The first phase of the campaign will get over on August 29 during Swabhiman rally in Gandhi Maidan, said Nitish adding that the second phase will begin in September.

In reply to the DNA remark, the JDU on Sunday came out with two jingles highlighting some of the renowned people of the world who hailed from Bihar and hit back at Modi by calling him 'jumla babu'.

"Issi Bihar ka DNA lekar Chanakya ne puri duniya ko arthshastra diya. Issi Bihar ka DNA lekar Jai Prakash Narayan lok nayak bane. Issi Bihar ka DNA lekar Bikhari Thakur ne Bidesiya ki rachna kar di. Bihar ke DNA ki kimat tum kya jano jumla babu. Aur iss baar Bihar ke DNA ne mann bana liya hai jhaase mei na aaenge, Nitish ko jitaenge," said one jingle.

Another jingle narrated, "Issi Bihar ka DNA lekar Aryabhatta ne duniya ko gannit ke sidhnath diye. Issi Bihar ka DNA lekar Babu Rajendra Prasad swatantyra Bharat ke pehle rashtrapati ban gaye. Issi Bihar ka DNA lekar Ramdhari Singh Dinkar rashtra kavi ban gaye. Bihar ke DNA ki kimat tum kya jano jumla babu. Aur iss baar Bihar ke DNA ne mann bana liya hai jhaase mei na aaenge, Nitish ko jitaenge."

The JDU has already made it clear that it will use the DNA barb as one of the poll planks for the Bihar Assembly elections.

On July 25, while addressing the first election rally, Modi while targeting Nitish Kumar had said, "There seems to be some problem in his DNA because the DNA of democracy is not like that. In democracy you respect even your political rivals."

Modi came under fire for calling Bihar a "BIMARU" state. While addressing a rally at Gaya's Gandhi Maidan on Sunday, Modi said, "Within five years, we will ensure that Bihar gets out of the "BIMARU" category."

Nitish tweeted, "We condemn Modiji's statement on calling Bihar a "BIMARU" state and the people unfortunate. We believe that the people of Bihar will give a befitting reply to those who have insulted them."
