New Delhi: AAP holds protest march demanding resignation of Sushma Swaraj, Vasundhara Raje.
The Aam Aadmi Party on Monday held a protest march from Jantar Mantar to Parliament in the national capital demanding resignation of Bharatiya Janata Party ministers Sushma Swaraj and Vasundhara Raje following allegations of impropriety.
The AAP has also sought action against HRD minister Smriti Irani and Maharashtra MLA Pankaja Munde. Irani has been accused of misrepresenting facts about her educational qualifications to the EC whereas Munde is under the scanner for clearing purchases of chikki, mats and books for Rs 206 crore.
Stepping up the pressure on BJP, AAP has also questioned the Prime Minister's silence over the controversy and demanded an explanation from him over inaction against the tainted ministers.
"Two days back we had given an ultimatum to BJP government to come out clean on the matter. Why is Narendra Modi silent on the issue. His ministers should resign otheriwse we will involve people on ground. There is no difference between BJP government and Congress government," said AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj.
The BJP, on the other hand, refuted all allegations and accused the AAP of diverting attention from other concerns.
"This shows the farce that is Aam Aadmi Party. All allegations are false, yet they are doing this so that they do not answer the issues concerning them," said Sidharth Nath Singh, BJP National Secretary.
Police cracked down on protesting AAP workers. The security forces disrupted the protest and clashes took place. AAP is holding protests in other cities too.
