New Delhi: Yet another NDA ally is turning up the heat after the BJP's defeat in 11 out of 14 Lok Sabha and Assembly bypolls on Thursday. Upendra Kushwaha, Rashtriya Lok Samata Party leader and Minister of State with the HRD ministry, has demanded a meeting of the National Democratic Alliance to discuss not only the defeats, but also seat distribution for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Kushwaha had already termed BJP's behaviour towards its allies as a "big brotherly attitude" in a statement soon after the poll results on Thursday. He called this attitude the reason for a growing discontent among some sections of the NDA.

Another ally, Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray has already made his displeasure known over the Palghar seat loss in Maharashtra, saying his party would go solo for the next elections. "The BJP's downfall has started," Thackeray said after the results.

Ruling JD(U) headed by Nitish Kumar, too, lost the Jokihat seat to RJD now headed by Tejashwi Yadav while and his party spokesperson KC Tyagi told the BJP that its allies were feeling "isolated".

Kushwaha also demanded reservations for OBCs according to their numbers. "We should get them (reservations) according to our numbers and according to constitutional provisions," he said.

He asked for the caste data from the Socio Economic and Caste Census of 2011, which is still under wraps, yet to be made public. The reservations limit was 27 percent, but it should now correspond to the actual population of OBCs, he said.
