Assembly Elections LIVE Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday addressed a rally in Agartala and said that the people of Tripura have made up their minds to vote for the double-engine government.
Polling in Tripura will take place on February 16, and Meghalaya and Nagaland will vote on February 27. The counting for all three states will be held on March 2.
Home Minister Amit Shah held a rally in Tripura on Sunday and said Tripura is faced with the “triple trouble” of the Congress, CPI(M) and Tipra Motha in the ensuing assembly elections. He assured that BJP is the only party that can save the state.
Meanwhile, The Meghalaya Congress on Saturday promised one job to each household, free healthcare for all and free education for all girls up to class 12, if voted to power.

- PM Modi said communists ruled Tripura for three decades and killed political opponents before every election. “BJP’s government in Tripura has been working day and night to fill the pit dug during the last 25-30 years of communist rule," he added.
- PM Modi said the Left and Congress can never bring development in Tripura. “They always want Tripura to be a poor state. Left, Congress and other parties sharing the same ideology want to keep you poor. They will divide you in name of caste…you have to be together for a better future for your children."

- Tripura Elections: In a bid to ensure free and fair elections in Tripura, the international border with Bangladesh and inter-state boundaries will be sealed from today, a senior poll official told PTI. The BSF, which has been “maintaining strict vigil along the India-Bangladesh border", has been asked to seal the boundary for free and fair elections, he added.
