She said rallies would be organised at all the head quarters befitting reply to the charges.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on announced that Bahujan Samaj Party will celebrate her 53rd birthday on January 15 as Dhikkar Diwas(day of condemnation) of opposition parties.

Announcing the decision, Ms Mayawati said her party had decided to go in for Dhikkar Diwas on her birthday to counter the opposition parties on the conspiracy hatched by them to defame the BSP over the killing of a PWD engineer for collection of funds.

Addressing a press conference in Lucknow, she said on her birthday, rallies would be organised at all the head quarters of the 403 Assembly constituencies where the BSP leaders will give a befitting reply to the opposition charges.

She also clarified that every year targets were fixed for the leaders on donation to the party on her birthday but this year the MLAs, MPs, Lok Sabha candidates and the ministers have been spared and only the coordinators of the organisation have been given the target.

''This would be the first time when the party will hold Dhikkar Diwas on my birthday as earlier it was only termed as Arthik Sahog Diwas'', she said. The CM said she would discuss the modalities of the birthday functions with the party MLAs, Ministers and MPs this evening while tomorrow she would do the same with other leaders of the party.
