Patiala: In Congress' chief ministerial candidate Captain Amarinder Singh constituency Patiala, the mood is in favour for him.

Just outside his Moti Mahal Palace in Patiala is his school. Yatendra public school is a sprawling and beautiful building which belongs to the Maharaja of Patiala.

CNN News18 caught up with chai wallahs just outside the school.

When asked who will win Patiala, their unanimous reply is Captain.

They slowly opened up and admitted that things were changing in Patiala. Captain has been out of power for a decade but has been staying often at his palace.

The people who worked at the school ton CNN News18 on condition of anonymity admitted that they want things to change. Their grudge was basic. Each time captain comes, the roads are sealed and tea stalls are shut down by the police .

But won't a victorious captain mean he would be in Chandigarh and hence no such problem?

"No," the tea stall owners said. "When Amarinder was the CM this is what happened 10 years ago." They fear it may happen again.

JJ singh contesting from Patiala on a BJP ticket says, "This is the problem when you elect a raja and not a common man."

The AAP claims to be the only true representative of the common man.

But will Patiala vote for change? "Unlikely," Singh told CNN News18. "This place knows me for 47 years and they wont leave me . In politics though familiarity cannot always be taken for granted," he said.
