New Delhi: The Delhi High Court adjourned the hearing of the bail plea of former Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh in the 2008 cash for votes scam on Tuesday. It is now set to hear Singh's plea on Wednesday.

Singh had moved the High court after his regular and interim bail were rejected by a lower court.

Singh is currently in judicial custody but admitted at AIIMS after his health deteriorated in Tihar jail.

Singh was arrested on September 6 after he appeared before the court in response to the court summons to him for his alleged involvement in 2008 cash-for-vote scam.

He, however, had to be rushed to All India Medical Sciences (AIIMS) from Tihar jail after a bout of vomiting and diarrhoea on September 12 evening.

Doctors from AIIMS told the Delhi High Court on October 13 that Singh needed constant medical monitoring.

"He needs to be constantly monitored for renal function, infections and if he is travelling he should be under the supervision of nephrologist, a dialysis technician, a nurse and use ambulance/air ambulance for emergency," said a report by Additional Professor Doctor Sanjay Gupta of the AIIMS' Department of Nephrology.

The report was submitted to Justice Ajit Bharihoke who had earlier sought to be apprised of Amar Singh's health condition to decide his bail plea.

The Delhi High Court granted Singh interim bail on October 15.
