Chandigarh: Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu on Tuesday said the Centre would work shoulder-to-shoulder with the next government in Haryana to put the state on the path of progress.
"I want to thank the people of Haryana for giving full majority to BJP. In Maharashtra and Haryana, people supported us because people want that in Centre and in State both work in tandem towards the path of development.
"We will work shoulder-to-shoulder with the next government to put Haryana on the path of progress," Parliamentary Affairs Ministers Venkaiah Naidu, who attended today's party meeting here as central observer in which Karnal MLA ML Khattar was chosen to be as the next Chief Minister, told reporters.
Khattar is likely to take oath on October 26 as the next Chief Minister of Haryana and first from the party. Naidu said people have full faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and they want to strengthen his hands.
Hitting out at Congress, Naidu said, "You must have experienced that in Parliament when any good law is sought to be introduced, opposition Congress puts hurdles. Last time, Congress opposed Insurance Bill and it was send to the Select Committee.
"Therefore, we had requested the people to elect such a government in the State (Haryana) which will give its support to the Central government..."
He expressed hope that in future also people will give their support to the BJP, be it Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir and other states.
"People of this country want to give their support to such a leader who delivers and is honest, which is why Modi is getting so much support. Modi means 3D--Decisive, Development (oriented) and Dedicated. The country is moving forward under his leadership," he said.
