Hyderabad: Brother of the Congress leader and film star Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, also known as power star in Telugu cinema will be launching his new political party, Janasena on Friday in Hyderabad.

It is being seen as an embarrassment for Chiranjeevi as Pawan may eat into the veteran actor's vote bank in coastal Andhra. They hail from Kapu community and Chiranjeevi is considered their big leader.

After former chief minister N Kiran Kumar's quitting of the Congress, Chiranjeevi has emerged as the top most leader of the Congress in AP, where it is facing a huge challenge in the assembly and the Lok Sabha elections to be held together on May 7.

According to reports, Pawan Kalyan will be focusing on only a few Assembly and Lok Sabha seats in AP and Telangana. There are strong rumours that he may even contest in the Lok Sabha elections from Nalgonda or Kammam. Some say he will contest from coastal AP.

The former CM N Kiran Kumar Reddy's recently launched 'Samaikandhra Party' and Pavan Kalyan's new party the AP and Telangana will have 8-9 political parties contesting in the most crucial Assembly and Lok Sabha polls.
