Ahmedabad: The Congress has said that it will complain to the Election Commission for holding the party symbol in his hands while addressing the media right outside the polling booth in Ranip, Ahmedabad where voting underway on Wednesday. Modi, while addressing the media at Ranip, held the lotus in his hand.

The Aam Aadmi Party too objected to the use of the lotus by Modi on the polling day and asked the Election Commission to step in. AAP leader Ashutosh tweeted, "Good morning. How come Modi be allowed to hold a press conference with party symbol on voting day. violation of EC guideline. Will EC react?"

"BJP released manifesto on polling day. Modi did road show on other polling day and now PC with party symbol today. will EC react," he added.

However, former CEC TS Krishnamurthy has said, "What Modi has done is a debatable point. It is difficult to prove that he was campaigning. I am doubtful that it can be held as a violation."
