Congress primary shows its bankruptcy, easy victory for BJP: Gowda
Gowda said that in Karnataka, division is one of the important factors that will count during the elections.

Bangalore: Former Karnataka chief minister and BJP's Vice President DV Sadananda Gowda will be contesting from Bangalore North Lok Sabha seat this time. This is his third Lok Sabha constituency since 2004. In 2004, he won from Mangalore, in 2009, he won from neighbouring Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Seat.

Speaking about his candidature from Bangalore (North) constituency, he said, "So far, there is a very good wave. As I have served as the chief minister of the state, everyone knows me. People say that I am a good choice as a candidate for this constituency. I hope I win the constituency with a good margin."

Gowda also hit out at the Congress for holding primaries in his constituency. He said, "They are not able to give candidature for the constituency. Yesterday, there was a small agitation in front of the Congress's office, wherein they said that all the persons who filed nominations are not good candidates for this constituency. And it will be a walkover for the BJP. That is what the Congress people said, not myself or my party men. So media persons can analyse the situation of the Congress at this juncture."

On former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa getting the BJP ticket from Shimoga, he said, "In Karnataka, division is one of the important factors that will count during the elections. Now Congress is a divided house and the BJP is a united house. Certainly that will crack the issue."

Commenting on former minister B Sriramulu's BSR Congress merger with the BJP and the controversy surrounding it, Gowda said, "Even earlier, when we asked the Centre to take back Yeddyurappa, there were confusions. Finally everything was settled. Same thing will happen as far as Sriramalu's party is concerned."
