New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday called for a warning of strict action to be sent to Pakistan, in order to save Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav.

If Pakistan hangs Jadhav, then India must recognise Balochistan as an independent country, he said in a tweet.

“Pakistan is modern jungle... PM of Pakistan is a zero... Why is Jadhav being made the target,” he told CNN-News18.

Earlier, he had said that India should discard the “wrong perception” that an India-Pakistan friendship is necessary to have Hindu-Muslim unity in the country.

Swamy’s comments came in reaction to the Pakistan army chief approving execution of Kulbhushan Jadhav for his “involvement in espionage and sabotage activities” in the country.

Pakistan security officials had “arrested” Jadhav on March 3 last year in Balochistan after he reportedly entered from Iran.

Pakistan has alleged that Jadhav was a serving officer in the Indian Navy and deputed to the Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW).

India has acknowledged Jadhav as a retired Indian Navy officer, but denied the allegation that he was in any way connected to the government.
