Karnataka: Yeddyurappa likely to return to BJP, say sources
A state BJP delegation led by DV Sadananda Gowda met the Narendra Modi in Ahmedabad and requested him to persuade the party central leadership to take Yeddyurappa back.

Will BS Yeddyurappa return to the BJP? According to some state BJP sources, he will. A state BJP delegation led by former chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda met the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in Ahmedabad and requested him to persuade the party central leadership to take Yeddyurappa back.

Modi has promised them that he will raise the issue at a BJP meeting in New Delhi on September 8, these leaders claim. Modi is visiting Karnataka in October to address a public meeting. Yeddyurappa, who left the BJP in last November to float his own regional party KJP, is eager to return to the BJP. But, many of his party leaders are reluctant to return. They are even threatening to leave the party, if he merges KJP with BJP.

The humiliating defeat in the recent Lok Sabha by-polls and Vidhana Parishath polls has shaken the saffron party. It is now desperately trying to get Yeddyurappa back on the board.

Senior BJP leader LK Advani is opposing Yeddyurappa's return to the BJP.
