BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy will take oath as Minister of State with independent charge: sources

Rudy represents Saran Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Council of Ministers will be expanded on Sunday as over 15 will take oath at around 1:30 pm at Rashtrapati Bhawan in the national capital.

Sources say that Bharatiya Janata Party MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy will take oath as Minister of State with independent charge.

Rudy represents Saran Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar. The appointment also gains significance as the state will go to polls in 2015.

Sources suggest that former Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar could get the heavyweight defence portfolio while DV Sadananda Gowda could be shifted from Railways.

Names of senior leaders Giriraj Singh, Ram Kripal Yadav, Babul Supriyo, Mahesh Sharma, Birendra Singh, Vijay Sampla, Ramesh Bais and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi are also doing the rounds.
