Ms Venkatesh was dismissed as NCW member in relation to Mangalore pub attack.

Bangalore: Sacked member of the National Commission of Women (NCW), Ms Nirmala Venkatesh, on Thursday formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bangalore.

Ms Venkatesh was dismissed as NCW member after her submission of

controversial report to the Union Government on the inquiry into the attack on girls at a pub in Mangalore.

She was admitted into the party by BJP Mahila Morcha General Secretary Mangala Sridhar at the party office.

Speaking after admission into the BJP, Ms Venkatesh offered to campaign for the party in the coming elections and said she would expose the Congress.

She claimed the Union Government had rejected her report on Mangalore Pub incident with political motives

Ms Venkatesh was also ex-member of Karnataka Legislative Council. She had announced her resignation from the Congress and participated at the state-sponsored programme on terrorism at Palace Grounds recently.
