The video footage accessed by CNN-IBN shows Siddaramaiah in a fit of rage reportedly ‘slapped’ the Ballari Corporation Commissioner PG Ramesh.

Ballari: The Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah landed in to controversy on Saturday after video footage reportedly showing him 'slapping' Ballari Corporation Commissioner P G Ramesh went viral.

The video footage accessed by CNN-IBN showing Siddaramaiah in a fit of rage reportedly 'slapped' the Ballari Corporation Commissioner.

Rubbishing the content in the video footage, Siddaramaiah claimed that he had not slapped any official and media is creating controversy to malign his image. Interestingly, the commissioner too claimed that the person shown in the video footage is not him.

Hours after the video footage went viral, Siddharamaiah clarified his position through social networking site.

In Siddaramaiah's official Facebook account, he said, "The news that is being telecast by some media channels that the Chief Minister has slapped an officer at the inauguration of Valmiki Bhavan in Ballari has surprised and saddened me."

"Through this, I would like to inform the people of the state that I have not slapped any officer," the post written in Kannada added.
