It is also learnt that the reshuffle is likely to be done after the National Executive Meet in Allahabad.

Union Cabinet and Bharatiya Janata Party's organisational reshuffle has been delayed. It is also learnt that both the reshuffles are likely to be undertaken after the BJP National Executive Meet in Allahabad, sources said on Wednesday.

The old members of the National Executive have been invited for the meeting.

BJP president Amit Shah had on May 26 confirmed that a rejig of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's team was on the cards but stopped short of saying more about the plan.

The Cabinet will get a new minister of state for sports (independent charge), which is vacant after Sarbananda Sonowal became the Chief Minister of Assam.

There are speculations that Modi may axe some ministers because of their poor performances and failure in achieving the government's goals.

Senior BJP leaders like Arun Jaitley, Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj and Nitin Gadkari are expected to keep their Cabinet portfolios.
