New Delhi: Protests over the Civil Services Aptitude Test rocked Parliament on Thursday. In the Lok Sabha, Samajwadi Party, Congress and BJD MPs objected to UPSC aspirants being lathicharged in Delhi on Wednesday night. Some BJP MPs also objected to the incident.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu had to intervene and say that the government is looking for a solution to the issue.

Protesting IAS aspirants were forcibly removed by the police on Wednesday night while some were lathicharged. The police claimed that a few protesters tried to torch a police booth and pelted stones, but the protesters have denied the charges.

IAS aspirants are protesting against the exam format, which, they claim, is discriminatory towards people from Hindi-speaking states.
