Roll Ball Star Aditya Ganeshwadem Is The Man of Great Honor
Aditya has been nominated for the prestigious Arjuna Award for 3 consecutive times by the Roll Ball Federation of India in the years- 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Career span of 17 years, 100 goals to his credit, two times skipper of the World Cup-winning team, holds a record of hitting a maximum number of goals in a world cup tournament, these are few among the top credentials for Aditya Ganeshwadem, the present captain of the open category Roll Ball team.

Roll Ball, which was an idea of a Pune-based physical education teacher Raju Dabhade, got its recognition on the global level with Aditya's game prodigy. Under his captaincy, the Indian squad is currently among the top teams and has won five World Cup tournaments.

He says, “The first time I started practicing this game was in the year 2000. I was a speed skater and Raju sir approached me to try out the game. I liked the concept so much that I instantly agreed to be a part of the game and have been playing it regularly over the years. It feels nice to be known as one of the first players of the game.”

One needs to have enough guts to choose a sport that was not even recognized in India when it came into existence back in the year 2003. But it was Aditya's dedication towards the game that he not only engaged players from India but also from the various parts of the world. The game, today, has more than a thousand players across the globe now. The Roll Ball World Cup, held every two years, and South Asian Championships see teams from Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Pakistan, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Great Britain, Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, China, Bangladesh, Guyana, Uganda, Kuwait, Nepal, Kenya and more participating.

Aditya has added several feathers to his cap. He has been nominated for the prestigious Arjuna Award for 3 consecutive times by the Roll Ball Federation of India in the years- 2017, 2018 and 2019.

He brought laurels to his country by winning Gold in the year 2017 and 2019 and Silver in the ear 2018 during the All India Inter-University Championship.

His contributions during the Senior Federation National Championship were remarkable and his efforts helped him bag gold medals in the following years - 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017. He, however, settled for Silver in the year 2018 and 2019.

On the global platform, the Indian Roll Ball Squad, under the guidance of Aditya Ganeshwadem, won Asian Championship in 2011. The Indian side won World Cup Tournaments in the year 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019.

In 2013, 2015 and 2017, Aditya was bestowed with the Best Player Award. In the year 2013 and 2017 during the World Cup games, he was the highest goal scorer. He is a record holder of hitting 33 goals in the World Cup 2017, the highest for any player in any single tournament.

Aditya bagged gold medals in 2008 and 2009 in the Under-19 Federation championship. He is the only player to score 100 international goals in all computations.

The below figures mark the greatness of this iconic sports star:

World Championship Goals- 111

Asian Championship Goals- 11

Total International Goals- 122
