Nikhat Zareen showed Dipika Pallikal and Manushi Chhillar her favourite move in boxing during an interaction for the launch of Adidas' ‘Watch Us Move’ campaign, the Squash star joked she will use it on her husband Dinesh Karthik.

Indian pugilist Nikhat Zareen during the launch of Adidas’ ‘Watch Us Move’ campaign, taught squash star Dipika Pallikal and Miss World 2017 Manushi Chillar, her favourite boxing move.

Answering a question on her favourite boxing move, Nikhat said that it was the ‘feint and attack’

“So basically, I box in 51 category and in that category, I’m the tallest girl. So for me, it’s an advantage. And so I show like I’m going to attack but I don’t attack and I allow my opponent to attack and when she attacks, then I throw my no counter punches. So that’s my favourite move. It’s called feint and attack,” Nikhat said.

After Dipika Pallikal and Manushi Chillar tried the move as Nikhat showed them how, the Squash star joked that she would practise the move on her husband Dinesh Karthik.

“I’ll practice it on my husband today,” Dipika joked.

Pallikal was asked the effect the coronavirus pandemic had on athletes and their training schedules, she said, “I feel the first few months were okay. Mentally, we were like, Okay, this is going to get over but I still have to stay fit, and how am I going to fit? And it’s you know, I think we were in touch with our trainers way more than you’ve ever been in touch with them.”

“But I think as an athlete, we go through this, I think we’re all you know, we were always shoved into situations where it’s odd and we have to come out of the top no matter what. And it’s being loaded physically. I think it’s taken a toll on athletes mentally, especially on the Olympic athletes,” she said.

“Unfortunately, I was not part of the Olympics. But I can only emphasise on how you train for four years and the Olympics is your biggest goal. And suddenly you have to train another year for it and you don’t even know what is going to happen in the next one,” she added.
