Ed Hervey Stepping Down As B.C, Lions' General Manager

Ed Hervey is stepping down as general manager of the B.C. Lions because of personal reasons.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia: Ed Hervey is stepping down as general manager of the B.C. Lions because of personal reasons.

The Canadian Football League team announced the decision Friday.

The 47-year-old Hervey, a former NFL and CFL receiver, joined the Lions in December 2017 after being fired as Edmonton’s general manager. He replaced Wally Buono,

While the CFL is not playing this year our roster is currently set, team president Rick LeLacheur said in a statement.. Head coach Rick Campbell and director of football operations Neil McEvoy will work together with the Lions coaching staff to ensure continuity in football operations.

In their first season under Hervey in 2018, the Lions finished 9-9, crossed over to the East Division for the playoffs and lost to Hamilton in the division semifinal. Last season, they went 5-13 and missed the playoffs.

Hervey was Edmontons general manager from 2013-16, winning a Grey Cup in 2015.
