Many pro-defenders had put their teams on a winning streak at the last moment. The defenders need to very well know the raiders of their opposite teams in order to onslaught them at the precise split of a second. Let’s take a look at all time Top 5 Defenders of the Pro-Kabaddi League -


1. Manjeet Chillar

Manjeet Chillar is an All Rounder besides being a left corner defender who silently says ‘You come in my way and I’ll throw you away’. Known for his thigh holds, ankle holds and front attacks, Manjeet is a force to reckon with.

The Arjuna Awardee is the member of India National Kabaddi Team and brought Gold in the Asian Games 2014. Manjeet won the Defender of the Tournament Award and Most Valuable Player Award in Season 2 of Pro Kabaddi League. Manjeet was auctioned for a whopping ₹75.5 Lakhs and will continue to play for Jaipur Pink Panthers.


2. Mohit Chillar

Mohit Chillar – the right corner defender will be seen snitching challengers of Haryana Steelers. Known as the defensive machine, Mohit Chillar is an abrasive defender.

Mohit made his India National Kabaddi Team debut last year and contributed to the Nation in winning Gold at South Asian Games 2016. Mohit was auctioned to Haryana Steelers for ₹46.5 Lakhs.


3. Dharmaraj Cheralathan

Dharmaraj Cheralathan - the right and left corner defender will be seen blocking the opponents raiding Puneri Paltan. This Kabaddi Hall of the Fame legend is known for clinging the raiders downright.

The nine golds holder is a member of India National Kabaddi Team and was part of the Kabaddi World Cup, 2016 which won Gold. Dharmaraj Cheralathan lead the Patna Pirates to retain the title in Season 4. For the Season 5 of Pro Kabaddi League, Dharmaraj Cheralathan was auctioned for Rs 46 lakh and will play for Puneri Paltan.


4. Fazel Atrachali

Fazel Atrachali – the left corner defender will be seen nabbing the rivals of Gujarat Fortune Giants. Known for his body blocks, this Iranian defender won the Best Defender Award in Season 5 of Pro Kabaddi League. Fazel was picked by the Gujarat Fortune Giants on the Day 1 of auctions as a Priority Pick from Category A priced at ₹35 Lakhs.


5. Surender Nada

Surender Nada – the left corner defender will be seen holding turf against pretenders of Haryana Steelers. Known as an ankle hold specialist, Nada was part of the India National Team that won gold medal in Kabaddi World Cup 2016 and another gold in South Asian Games, 2016. Surender Nada was grabbed as a Priority Pick by Haryana Steelers in the Pro Kabaddi League auction for Season 5.
