Wimbledon 2021 News Highlights: Federer Beats Norrie, Sania Mirza Loses in 2nd Round

Wimbledon Tennis 2021 Highlights: Roger Federer beat Cam Norrie to advance to the fourth round. Sania Mirza lost her second round of women's doubles match.

Wimbledon Tennis 2021 Highlights: Roger Federer registered a four set win over Cam Norrie at the Centre Court to advance to the fourth round. Sania Mirza and her partner Bethanie Mattek-Sands lose in their second round match of the women’s doubles 4-6, 3-6 to Elena Vesnina-Veronika Kudermetova. The Centre Court crowd at Wimbledon will be conflicted when perennial fan favorite Roger Federer takes on Britain’s Cameron Norrie. No. 2-seeded Daniil Medvedev faces 2017 runner-up Marin Cilic. On the women’s side, 17-year-old Coco Gauff defeated Kaja Juvan, 6-3, 6-3. Top-ranked Ash Barty takes on Kateina Siniakov. Barty, the 2019 French Open champion, needs two more wins to become a Wimbledon quarterfinalist for the first time.

Second seed Medvedev faces 2017 Wimbledon finalist Marin Cilic while Zverev plays big-serving Taylor Fritz. Fritz has performed wonders to even be competing as only weeks ago he left the French Open in a wheelchair due to a knee injury.
Both Medvedev and Zverev have yet to reach the quarter-finals at Wimbledon. The match of the day on the men’s side though may well be between stylish Canadian 16th seed Felix Auger-Aliassime and fiery Aussie entertainer Nick Kyrgios.

Seventh-seeded Matteo Berrettini and former Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber were among the players in third-round action on the outer courts when play was halted.

There were several rain delays during the first two days of the tournament but the weather had been dry since then.
