BlackBerry Key2 launch had been confirmed back in March by the company but not much about the smartphone had been revealed at the time. However, recent leaks on the internet leave nothing hidden about the upcoming BlackBerry smartphone. In a series of tweets recently, noted tipster Evan Blass has unveiled the looks as well as the specifications of the device. If the leaks turn out to be true, the BlackBerry Key2 will hold on to its qwerty keypad and will offer a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display on top of it.

The leaks by Evan Blass reveal the smartphone in its entirety. From what can be judged from these images, the BlackBerry Key2 will sport a qwerty keypad, a touch display on top having three touch keys right below it. AT the back, the device will come with a textured design and a horizontal dual camera setup at the top left along with an LED Flash and a BlackBerry icon at the centre of the back. A 3.5mm headphone jack can also be seen on the top whereas the speakers can be seen at the bottom edge of the smartphone, placed on either sides of the USB type-C port. Hard keys including the volume rockers, the power button and the camera key have been placed on the right edge of the device.

BlackBerry Key2 Specifications

As per the leaks by Evan Blass on Twitter, BlackBerry Key2 will come with a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display with a 3:2 aspect ratio. Below this screen will be a 35 key backlit qwerty keyboard with an integrated fingerprint sensor. The smartphone will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC and will carry a 6GB RAM along with a 64GB and a 128GB storage option, both of which will be expandable up to 256GB. The device will run Android 8.1 Oreo and will be backed by a 3500 mAh battery that will also support Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0.

There is no official confirmation about the specifications or the leaked images of the smartphone by the company as of now but given the history of Evan Blass' leaks, we can expect the device to be more or less similar to the one portrayed here. BlackBerry is expected to unveil the smartphone today at an event in New York.
