New Delhi: Facebook has a new logo, which is basically ‘a’ slight improvement from its earlier logo.
The social networking giant has replaced the double-story ‘a’ with a single story ‘a’ in its logo which is now more white than the older one.
Product designer at Facebook, Christophe Tauziet, revealed the new logo that spells the full name of the company with slimmer letters via his Twitter handle.
A report on the Wall Street Journal notes that the change is apparently to better suit the smaller screens of the mobile devices and that the change of 'a' is actually much more than that.
Howard Belk, co-chief executive and chief creative officer of Siegel+Gale, a branding firm that’s part of Omnicom Group, says that the new logo is more smartphone friendly, while the back-lit glow of a smartphone makes letters look fuzzy and less legible, so clear lettering with more white space looks better.
While the full-logo has changed, the standalone ‘f’ logo at the top left corner of the main site will stay the same.
